Garry's Mod custom map (Source Engine)

A small map I created for a game called Garry's Mod.

F.E.A.R: Extraction Point is one of my favourite shooters. I figured the Half life 2 AI would work well in FEAR style maps, with their flanking and combat being similar to the replica soldiers from FEAR. This lead to this, an extract (ha) of one of my favourite combat arenas from extraction point remade in hammer. I am not familiar with the FEAR SDK and none of the official maps were ever released for use in the SDK. No measurements or floorplans to reference. So I remade this from feel walking around the map in game, and eyeballing it. Recreated as accurately as I can with some exceptions.

With this I also learnt more Hammer quirks and features such as adding destructible glass, cubemaps, AI noding and pathing, dynamic shadows and fixing artifacts and bugs with them, using custom textures in hammer, packing all assets (including custom textures) so everyone can play the map etc.

With the AI nodes, the enemy NPCs can take full advantage of the level design and layout, utilising the rooms in between to flank or retreat etc.
