Made within 3 days for Screamjam 2024. Very short sort of intro/prologue to what could be a larger game. Due to being unable to work on the jam when it started intially, I had less than half of the Jam time to work. As a result, I was unable to implement menus, sounds and other gameplay ideas I had originally. I may update the game outside the jam to add sound and other gameplay features too possibly.
The idea for this was to make a sort of "hardcore" game. With UI elements kept minimum, such as the ammo count, tying the flashlight to the weapon so reloading, melee etc affects your light etc. At the moment there is no indicator for health aside from a bloody overlay at low health, but the original idea was for an inventory menu where the player can check their total ammo, health, and inventory items. As such, the magazine check was supposed to just show the ammo in the current magazine, with total ammo only checkable in the inventory, which will not pause the game. My idea for this is to increase tension and prevent the inventory from being like a safe space. It also stops players from being near death, and instantly healing like they can with most games' inventory system.

This is a retro PS1 inspired horror survival shooter. Or at least it is mostly a shooter but with some survival and horror elements.
